West Ottawa Performing Arts Center
West Ottawa Public Schools operates 12 schools across 73 square miles in Ottawa County. The district is ranked as the #2 public school district in Ottawa County and #4 in Michigan. It also holds the distinction of being the second most diverse school district in the state.
Client Needs
In response to the growing needs of their exceptional music and performing arts programs, West Ottawa prioritized the creation of a new Performing Arts Center as part of the 2019 Bond. This state-of-the-art facility was designed to enhance student opportunities and will be seamlessly connected to the existing music wing, further supporting the district’s commitment to the arts.
Project Solution
The completed project boosts a 56,000-square-foot addition, featuring a 1,200-seat auditorium with a stage and full-fly loft. A spacious lobby, secondary performance space, and a grand staircase provide a welcoming entrance for guests. The facility also includes a variety of support spaces, ensuring both functionality and flexibility. Warm wood accents throughout the venue add an elegant touch, while CMU block is strategically used for durability.
