Saugatuck Public Schools’ facilities include Douglas Elementary School, which was initially built in the 1950s with an addition in the 1960s and another in 2008. The school’s last significant interior finishes renovation took place in 1992. Additionally, Saugatuck Public Schools has a Middle/High School that was constructed in the mid-1970s, followed by an addition and renovation in 2002. Both buildings were in need of a face-lift.

Project Solution

GDK Construction has been heavily involved in the school’s bond initiative, assisting with various aspects such as the pre-bond campaign, preconstruction estimating, and construction management of the projects. We completed the Douglas Elementary School project in 2022, and the Middle/High School project is set for a 2026 completion date.
