OAISD – Medical Wing
OAISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs serve students from kindergarten through grade 13, including those in traditional public schools, public school academies, faith-based schools, and home-school settings. Adult programs are also available. CTE offers a strong return on investment for students, businesses, and the economy by equipping learners with workplace skills and delivering academic content through hands-on, practical experiences.
Client Needs
The demand for Careerline Tech Center programs has steadily increased, leading to a significant waitlist for 11th and 12th-grade students. Local schools are also seeking ways to offer CTE opportunities on their campuses. In response, Ottawa Area ISD is launching several initiatives to meet this growing need.
Project Solution
This fall, Careerline Tech Center opened a dedicated Health Sciences campus by renovating an existing OAISD facility at 13565 Port Sheldon Street, directly across from the main campus. This expansion creates space for additional programs that align with industry trends and student interests. The renovated classrooms became a new medical wing that houses the dental and nursing programs, along with several other classrooms and meeting spaces. This expansion not only enhances the variety of programs available but also ensures that students receive hands-on training in high-demand fields, better preparing them for future careers in healthcare.
