The new Nutrition Lab at Calvin University is designed as a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that bridges culinary practice with academic instruction. The lab features a fully equipped teaching kitchen complete with convection ovens, induction cooktops, commercial dishwashing equipment, dedicated prep stations, high-performance blenders and mixers, and ample pantry storage to support both individual and group work.
A state-of-the-art projection system allows students to clearly follow live demonstrations in real time, enhancing visibility and engagement from every seat. With its flexible layout, the space easily transitions from a working kitchen to a 36-seat classroom, creating a versatile setting for lectures, demonstrations, collaborative labs, and community programming.
